Two weeks on from All Pledges Leaving!

As The Barons' War 3 Kickstarter draws to a close it is time to share a penultimate update about how we belive things currently stand and what happens next. Paul and I will be on hand until all pledges have landed (and afterwards, as long as we are needed). So if you have any issues or questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. Oh and don't forget to vote for The Barons' War in the 2021 Wargames Illustrated Awards.
EU Orders Arriving Safely
Two weeks have past since the very last pledges left Footsore Miniatures & Games heading for the EU. We are assuming that most, if not all, have arrived by now? So far out of 146 EU pledges there have been only 8 issues reported at customs where extra customs duties and VAT have had to be paid - this was dealt with straight away, once we were contacted by the backers.
We are very keen to hear that everyone in the EU has received their pledges and are happy. Please mention in the comments below if you are still waiting and in which country.
Rest assured we will be on hand until ALL pledges have landed safely. I am (Andy) still poised to pay EU backers back for any extra charges incurred on top of what we have already paid!
What Do I Do if I Have an Issue?
When it arrives if for any reason there is an issue with your pledge I encourage you to contact Footsore Miniatures & Games, who carried out the mammoth task of fulfilling this project. They really are the best people to help you. Contact them via email at [email protected], please share as much detail as possible, who you are, BW order number if you have it and how they can help you will be useful information for them. They are really helpful and will act straight away.
Not Yet Completed Your Pledge?
If you are one of the 22 backers who are yet to complete your pledge please, please, please can you pop onto the pledge manager and finalise everything? Our intention is to complete and close out the BW3 Kickstarter on Tuesday the 30th of November 2021. After this date you will no longer have access.
You will know your pledge is completed when you reach the following screen:
We think it will come as no surprise to hear that Footsore Miniatures & Games have agreed to add the BW3 figures to The Barons' War range, they are looking at either a December 2021 or a January 2022 release on their website. Footsore will also stocking the Death & Taxes rulebook, both the PDF and the printed version. If you haven't visited their website before it can be found by clicking here.
It’s that time of the year again. Wargames Illustrated are asking for your votes for the 2021 Wargames Illustrated Awards! Why are we mentioning it? Well, if you like what we are creating with The Barons’ War please take the time to vote for us, it doesn't take long, and we’d really appreciate it. To be honest we’d also appreciate a vote if you've not planned in taking the survey, too.
It’s in the ‘Q6 Best New Rules/Game’ category. A vote in the ‘Q3 Best Range of Figures’ would be good too.
In the meantime we will continue to support The Barons' War game with mini campaigns, the latest is called 'Lackland Goes North', which was released today through Footsore Miniatures & Games.
And finally, once again, thank you very much for having the faith in us to deliver by backing the BW3 project, it has been a humbling experience. Please keep an eye out for what we do next, it is going to be good!

All BW3 Completed Pledges Have Left Footsore Miniatures & Games!*

I am so very pleased to be able to say that all pledges submitted to Footsore Miniatures & Games have been collected. All backers with a completed pledge should now have recieved an email confirming despatch.

With EU orders starting to leave last week, many should have already begun to arrive. If you have received a despatch email but not yet received your pledge please be patient as all packages are now in the mailing system*.
*All except one for Frank in Italy which we are currentlyholding awaiting his new address!

EU PLEDGES
To echo our Facebook post, let me first add a huge thank you to our EU backers for your patience and giving us the time and space to work a solution to the delivery issue.
If you backed BW3 and waiting for your pledge to be delivered to the EU please let me assure you that every attempt has been made to send it VAT and duty paid. If, however, you encounter an issue please contact Footsore,using [email protected] with the order number (it will be BWXXXX) and we will help to sort things out. The bottom line on this is I will personally pay any fees you are charged to release your parcel if needed as I promised you wouldn’t have to.
NOVEMBER "WAVE 2" VILLAGE PLEDGES
If you are one of the 25 who backed at the pledge level Wimentun Village (physical terrain) *Wave 2 - Shipping November 2021*, any figures you included as part of your pledge have been sent to you. Your village is currently under production and we are very confident that we will have them finished and on their way to you by the end of next month, November 2021. We will keep you updated on progress.
Once these villages have been shipped we plan to open up the Warhost website to start taking orders for both digital and physical items, which can be found here https://store.warhost.online/. Rumours are we may have commissioned a few new things to add to the range ready for launch day.
WHAT NEXT?
Finally, we do still have two pledges in the system, completed after the cut-off date, which will now be handed over to Footsore so they can pick, pack and get them despatched as soon as they can. Once these pledges and the extra 25 villages have been shipped and received by the backers, our plan is to close down the BW3 pledge manager.
With BW3 arriving we have been asked if there will be a BW4? I'd be lying if I said Paul and I haven't already been discussing it . We are very excited about what we are currently "cooking up" but more about this once all the BW3 pledges have arrived safely.

As promised we have an update for our EU backers, who have been waiting patiently for their BW3 pledges to ship. I am very pleased to be able to say that Footsore Miniatures & Games are able to start shipping them to the EU from today.

As parcels leave the building, you should be notified via email that yours is on its way. Due to the shipping process, there is a need for repacking the more significant pledges. These bigger pledges will be sent in more than one shipment, and with almost 150 pledges to ship, it will take a few days to get them all out of the door.
I will continue to keep an eye on things and report back when the final pledges have left.

BW3 Shipping Update and EU Pledges

We have reached the final day of September 2021, and I am pleased to say that by the end of today, Footsore Miniatures & Games will have despatched all BW3 pledges except those beingsent to backers in the EU.

It has been fantastic to see the social media posts sharing pledges landing with backers, and it has been very heartwarming to read all the positivity out there for both the miniatures and the Death & Taxes book. Knowing that The Barons' War community is so positive about what we are doing encourages us in our quest to make the best game and range of figures we possibly can.

Against this backdrop of positivity and support, it does genuinely upset me to have to say that Footsore has not been able to send the European pledges in time, i.e. by the end of September 2021. Shipping the EU pledges, so backers are not charged extra, is essential to Paul and me, so a decision was made for this project to ship via DDP (delivered duty paid).
EU Pledges waiting patiently to be sent
With all the pledges picked and ready a couple of weeks ago, when it was time to ship last week, it became evident that although Royal Mail assured Footsore that they have a system in place to ship DDP, they actually don't. Even though their Click & Drop system is set up it doesn't work as a vital part of the process is still to be finished.
So, where does this leave us regarding EU pledges? Over the last two weeks, we have hung on and hung on waiting for Royal Mail to implement a fix so we can use it, which unfortunately hasn't materialised. Realising we were running out of time this week, we took the decision to register for DDP with a different carrier. This will naturally result in a delay of around a week while it is being implemented. Therefore, unless Footsore gets lucky with their new system set up, we believe EU pledges will now start shipping around the 11th October 2021.
Both Paul and I are sorry for the delay, it isn't what we wanted to happen, and even though all EU pledges are ready to go, we don't like to send them without the assurance of there being no extra charges when they arrive with you. If it is any consolation for the slight delay, this change in carrier will cost us almost three times the shipping fees we were initially quoted!
I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the EU pledges directly, either in the comments or by direct message. As soon as we have any further news that they will be leaving, I will update everyone.

Pledge Fulfilment Update for BW3

Hello! Already three weeks into September 2021 and we have a positive update for you regarding pledge fulfilment. As of today, all pledges except those from backers in the UK have been picked and packed with many already on their way from Footsore Miniatures & Games; they started dispatching last week.
Pledges!
This week the remaining UK pledges are being picked and packed with Footsore Miniatures & Games reliably informing us that this will be completed by the end of this week, which means all pledges will be ready to go.
As pledges are dispatched, you will receive an email notification. The idea has been to send pledges to far off places first, with the idea for everything landing with backers around the same time.
EU backers, Footsore are currently wrestling with the DDP paperwork and once this has all been completed and filed your pledges will be on their way - it is important to us that you receive no extra charges.
More pledges!
Backers who ordered a complete Wimentun Village, either with figures or on its own, need to be aware that the villages are being sent out as a separate package and should be on their way by the end of September 2021. If you backed for a village as part of the second wave, it should be sent to you by the end of November 2021. However, we will send your figures out with the rest of the pledges this month.

If you receive your pledge and there is an issue, don't hesitate to contact Footsore's customer support using their email [email protected]. They will help you out as quickly as they can. Be aware some pledges are so big they have been sent in more than one package. If you believe you are missing a chunk of your pledge first check your box to see if it says 1/2 or 2/2 (one of two or two of two) etc. as you may still be waiting for another box to arrive.
